TESUKI-WASHI EchiZen Pearl 110 (Washi Pearl) is true handmade Japanese Washi based fine art paper, featuring a unique ‘Pearlescent’ finish. The Echizen area, where the washi base paper is produced, has a history spanning over 1500 years.
ILFORD’s new original coating technology adds another dimension to the washi range, with a stunning sparkle effect.

Awagami Factory, under the stewardship of the Fujimori family, has been a beacon of traditional washi papermaking since 1945. Despite post-WWII challenges, the family’s dedication led to numerous accolades, including ‘Intangible Cultural Property of Tokushima’ and ‘Traditional Craft Industry’. The family’s mastery, recognized by the Emperor, continues with Yoichi Fujimori, the second master papermaker. Committed to preserving this art form for future generations, the Fujimoris have built a global network offering Awagami papers, ensuring the tradition’s longevity.
AWAGAMI
‘Bizan 300gsm Thick White’ is a meticulously crafted 100% handmade paper of elegance and luxury. This wonderfully textured sheet is the whiter version of Bizan (please also see 'natural' version). Bizan Thick has 4 organic deckled edges and is made 1 sheet at a time by our master papermakers. ‘Bizan’ 300gsm is thicker than virtually all other inkjet papers and may be displayed without matting or frame. This impressive paper truly transcends works created on it…Suitable for photography, fine art and mixed media / hybrid printmaking.
